What a successful Summer Tesco Collection!
For 3 days we were based at Tesco Newtownbreda, and had a huge number of volunteers helping us in a variety of ways, including speaking to customers, pre-packing some bags of shopping and sorting donations.
We collected 2133 KG -which works out to being 5,081 meals for people in need. Or another way to look at it – it means we can feed 194 single people for 3 days worth of food. All of that is amazing – and we are so grateful for all the shoppers and customers for their generosity and kindness. THANK YOU!
This year we managed to trial a new idea. It was pre-packed food items in bags that we offered to shoppers, and they went down really really well. Shoppers who didn’t have much time were able to grab and go – taking a ready made donation of food with them. It made donating quick and easy!
