Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.
Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis.

TUESDAY MORNING FACE TO FACE TEAM – 09:30-13:00
Could you be a vital part of our front of house team every Tuesday morning? You’d be helping to welcome clients, help them pick food, and do onward signposting too. SATURDAY WAREHOUSE TEAM – 11am-13:00
Could you assist the Saturday warehouse team in gathering stock from our warehouse, filling the foodbank van and then delivering it to our distribution centre? Other roles: Helping at a Tesco Supermarket Collection (Ad hoc volunteering)
Twice a year (usually in July and December), Tesco kindly allow us to collect at the Newtownbreda Extra store in South Belfast, for a weekend (Thursday to Saturday). This involves giving out shopping lists to the Tesco shoppers, who are encouraged to get a little extra while doing their shopping and then donate this to our foodbank. This is a great opportunity to build up our stock, and we usually receive donations of between 3-5 tonnes of food.
As you can imagine this takes a small army of volunteers and a lot of organisation. So we need all the help we can get. Our next scheduled Tesco collection is Thursday 28th Nov-Saturday 30th November 2024. Watch this space for full sign up details going live mid October 2024.
