South Belfast Foodbank – Here to Help

9th September 2020

It is hard to believe we are in September. The usual rhythms of Summer in the foodbank have been absent. Though we are still sad to not be able to come alongside face to face with those who find themselves in need of food at this time,  we have continued to distribute our food parcels through our fantastic delivery teams who deliver each weekday.

We are indebted to our fantastic teams of volunteers who are busy sorting food, packing foodboxes, making phonecalls and delivering.

A big part of who we are is to be”More Than Food”, being a listening ear and signposting those in need to further help. We are still trying to do this, as each person who is referred is called by a member of the foodbank to see if there are any special requirements and to arrange delivery. This call often turns into more as people open up about their difficulties and we try to find other avenues of help. For some, just hearing someone cares is so important. Though we don’t expect it, we do get many messages of thanks and appreciation and in turn we want to thank all our donors. Without the donations of food or money none of this would be possible.

If you would like to donate food or money please see our Give Help Page on this website.

If you need food please email [email protected] or phone 077 4333 2489

We are here to help.
