Busy Distributing Food in these Challenging Times

1st May 2020

South Belfast Foodbank has risen to the challenge of distributing food to those in food poverty in these difficult times.

Though we are still unable to offer our face to face services, our volunteers are very busy getting food to those who need it.

The safety of our volunteers and clients is paramount. We are sourcing food from wholesalers to minimize handling. It is being sorted and packed by our dedicated  family teams  and either family teams or two vehicles  deliver it. Some of our key agencies are also collecting food boxes to distribute.

We are humbled by the support from local businesses and community that are enabling us to keep up our food stocks to continue this work.

We have also had many heartening emails and phone calls from those that have received food. We know it can be hard to make that first call or email to the foodbank but if you or anyone you know needs food because of financial difficulty please do contact us.

We want to help.
