I volunteer because it’s the right thing to do, some of us in life are so fortunate to not experience having to go without. My parents taught me from an early age to respect everyone and accept their circumstances. No one wants to use the Foodbank. I feel privileged to give a little back, how many hours do we waste everyday. Volunteering should be a way of life, it’s awesome to interact with others and realise how lucky we are. I highly recommend volunteering. I have met some fantastic friends and work in an exceptional team, with great leadership from our peers. I hope in time the need for foodbanks will be unnecessary but until then I will continue to work as part of a fantastic organisation to do what I can.
